City of Bryson issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”  at Newfound Gap in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Although we didn’t receive snow in the lower elevations of the town of Bryson City, snow can be seen on the mountain tops all throughout the area.

Know before you go: if you plan on venturing into the National Park this holiday season, check the road information first here: https://twitter.com/SmokiesRoadsNPS.

Often when there is snow or ice, the Park will close roads temporarily.
