Clay County Schools Hayesville issued the following announcement on Feb. 1.
The Clay County Board of Education has proposed to accept an offer of Seventy Thousand Dollars ($70,000.00) for 2.16 acres of real property located at 919 Bethabara Road, Hayesville, NC 28904, Parcel 640900512398.
The property has multiple structures, is being sold as is, and the Board will provide clear and marketable title. The total taxable value of the property is $160,200.00.
Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 160A-269, the Board is accepting upset bids for the next ten days, ending at 4:00 pm on February 9, 2023. Any upset bid must increase the previous $70,000.00 offer by at least ten percent (10%) of the first one thousand dollars and five percent (5%) of the remainder and the bidder must deposit with the Board five percent (5%) of their total bid.
Upset bids and the accompanying bid deposit check or money order must be delivered to the Clay County Schools Finance Department by the deadline listed above.
