The Gaston County Republican Party has announced a Sheriff Primary Forum and Structured Debate, scheduled for January 29. The event is an official function of the party and will be held according to its rules, policies, and organizational plan.

According to the public notice, the forum is open to the public. Members of the community are invited to attend in order to observe and listen to both candidates and moderators. However, audience participation will be limited strictly to observation.

“All attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and orderly manner at all times,” states the notice. It further outlines that disrespectful behavior—including vocal outbursts, applause, commentary during the program, or interruptions—will not be tolerated.

The Gaston County Republican Party and the venue have reserved “the absolute right to remove any individual or group whose behavior is disruptive, disrespectful, or inconsistent with the rules of the event.” Failure to follow instructions from staff or officials may result in removal from the premises.

The debate will be livestreamed by the Gaston County Republican Party. Attendees may also record or livestream for personal use but not for commercial purposes. The party reserves “the right to restrict or discontinue recording or livestreaming at any time if it disrupts the event.”

Attendance constitutes agreement with all rules set forth by both party officials and venue management. These measures are intended “to ensure a fair, respectful, and orderly event for candidates, attendees, and the public.”
