Harris Regional Hospital is organizing a free Lunch & Learn seminar focused on the link between nutrition and colorectal health. This event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the Easton Board Room at Harris Regional Hospital.
The session will be led by dietitian Sydney Fischer, MS, RN, LDN. Fischer will discuss how nutrition affects gut health and digestion while also addressing strategies for preventing colorectal cancer. Participants will receive information about fiber-rich foods, essential nutrients, and lifestyle choices that can help maintain a healthy colon and lower cancer risk.
This initiative aligns with National Colorectal Health Awareness Month in March, which emphasizes the importance of regular screenings for colorectal cancer and related conditions. Early detection through screenings and adopting a high-fiber diet, staying hydrated, and maintaining an active lifestyle are recommended to reduce the risk of developing colorectal diseases.
Attendees will enjoy a complimentary meal during the seminar. Due to limited space, registration is necessary.
