Harris Regional Hospital announced on Apr. 9 that it will hold a free Lunch and Learn event focused on anterior hip replacement at Western Carolina University’s Ramsey Center Hospitality Room in Cullowhee, scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
The event aims to educate community members about the anterior approach to hip replacement, a technique that avoids cutting through major muscles and may lead to faster recovery, less pain, and improved mobility for patients. Paul Ulrich, DO, an orthopaedic surgeon with Harris Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, will lead the session by explaining how the procedure works, who may be eligible for it, and what patients can expect before, during, and after surgery.
