Cost of college went down for all students at Tri-County Community College

In-state tuition and fees fell 5.1 percent for 2018-19 at Tri-County Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina residents paid $2,363 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-residents paid 260 percent more than residents this year, or $8,507. Their price tag was unchanged from $8,507 in 2017-18.

About 97 percent of the school's undergraduate population are North Carolina residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 57 students received grants or scholarships totaling $303,443.

Including all undergraduates (963), 389 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2 million.
