The North Carolina Troopers Association supports Rep. Kevin Corbin's (R-Cherokee) state Senate campaign, the Republican lawmaker said in a Facebook post.
"Thanks to these men and women who serve us," Corbin said in the Aug. 29 Facebook post. His approval came via a letter. "I am appreciative of the endorsement."
Corbin reported on his website that he had received endorsements from the 20 commissioners in his four-county district when running for the state House.
"I hope to do the same as I run for [North Carolina] Senate District 50," Corbin said on the site.
"I can't think of anyone in this district that is more qualified than Kevin Corbin to represent us in Raleigh. He will hit the ground running and do great things for far Western North Carolina," former District 120 Rep. Roger West said on Corbin's site.
Corbin's district, District 120, serves the Cherokee, Clay, Graham and Macon areas. He is the owner and operator of Corbin Insurance Agency and Blue Ridge Insurance Group.
The Republican is running against Democrat Victora Fox.
