Southwestern Community College educator Barbara Hardie donates $251 to Jaime Harrison's campaign

Barbara Hardie, an educator at Southwestern Community College, donated $251 to Democratic Party candidate Jaime Harrison, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $1,109 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with Southwestern Community College as of November 3. Approximately 97.7 percent, or $1,084, of these contributions were made to Democratic Party candidates and committees.

Barbara Hardie's contribution of $520 to Democratic Party Cory A. Booker was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with Southwestern Community College since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
