CHEROKEE COUNTY SCHOOLS: Take Part To Provide High-speed Internet Access To Your Communities

Cherokee County Schools issued the following announcement on July 11

Cherokee County Schools (CCS) has a unique opportunity to purchase a collection of Starlink Satellite Internet access receivers to distribute throughout Cherokee County.

The goal of this initiative is to increase the number of community, high-speed internet access points available to our students and staff.

Outside of our school locations, Cherokee County currently has five community WiFi access points.

Locations for these access points may be found on the North Carolina Department of Information Technology website.

Our goal is to exponentially grow this number, but we will need community interest and partnership to make this happen.

To become a partner with CCS please see the information flyer below, verify that your location meets the partnership criteria, and complete the Google Form application (https://forms.gle/39o48nG2EEa7WzrE6).

Interested community partners may contact Leslie Ledford, Director of Digital Teaching and Learning @ 828-837-2722 with any questions.
