Administration and school Resource Officers Aware of a Potential Threat Occurred Previous Day | MACON COUNTY SCHOOLS: (maconnc.org)
Macon County Schools issued the following announcement on Jan. 10.
On Thursday, January 12th, Macon County Schools administration and school resource officers were made aware of a potential threat that occurred the previous day on an East Franklin Elementary School bus.
An investigation was immediately initiated. Following a thorough investigation by school resources officers that lasted late into the evening, it was determined that another student overheard two other students talking about hunting and the mention of a firearm.
It was determined that there was never a threat of any harm to any student made at all.
We appreciate the ongoing partnership between our schools, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Franklin Police Department as well as our staff, students and family members who were involved in resolving this issue.
