Town of Bryson City issued the following announcement on March 6.
The Town of Bryson City is hiring a full-time sanitation worker. The employee performs intermediate semi-skilled work in the collection of solid waste; does related duties as required, including assisting the water/sewer crew or street crew or recycling crew as needed.
The position is subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme cold and heat, as well as, potential exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and dirt. Employees are subject to physical workplace hazards including proximity to moving mechanical parts or vehicles,
Work in this position is characterized as heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Employees must have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, as well as, recognize and apply safety standards to work performed. Employee must have the stamina to engage in strenuous physical work for extended periods of time and get along well with others.
Desirable Education
Graduation from High School or GED equivalency is preferred
General Requirements
· Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license

NC Works Career Center hours of operation are Thursday 10:00am-5:00pm.
Starting Salary- $15.00
