North Carolina midterms sees Clay Republican Party in cities associated with Clay County spend the most during Q4 2022

Clay Republican Party spent the most out of political committees within cities associated with Clay County during the fourth quarter of 2022.

It spent $3,686 on seven vendors during the time period.

The largest expense was for Event Expenses to Hinton Center, which is based in the Hayesville area.

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Clay County during the fourth quarter of 2022 came from Clay Democratic Party. It spent $2,679 during the time period on seven different vendors.

What’s known as “dark money”, which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.

Political campaign financial data is often updated, leading to a sometimes incomplete picture of a committee or candidate's finances.
