Town of Franklin issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.

Pursuant to NC G.S. 143-129, sealed Bids for the construction of the Clyde Street Waterline Improvements project will be received by Town of Franklin, at 95 East Main Street, Franklin, NC 28734 until 2:00 p.m. local time on March 9, 2023, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.  Bids may be submitted by mail or courier.  Bids received after this time will not be accepted.

This project consists of the installation of approximately 3,630 LF of 12-inch ductile iron water main and associated hydrants and appurtenances located on Clyde Street, Watauga Street, Lakeside Drive. Owner will provide 12-inch water main and 12-inch valves. All other appurtenances and ancillary water line to reconnect 2-inch to 6-inch lines to be provided by Contractor.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. local time on Tuesday, February 28 at 95 East Main Street, Franklin, NC 28734.  Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged. All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier’s check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to Town of Franklin.  No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 consecutive calendar days after bid opening except as provided in Instructions to Bidders.  Bidders must be licensed contractors in the state(s) in which the work is to be completed.
