The Republican candidate for lieutenant governor is planning a rally to support law enforcement along with a GOP state senator who is up for re-election.
The event billed as the "Mark Robinson for Law Enforcement Rally" features Republican lieutenant governor candidate Mark Robinson along with Rep. Kevin Corbin (R-Cherokee) on Saturday, Aug. 15 at noon at Bridge Park in Sylvia, according to a Facebook post from Robinson on July 28.
“With our special guest [Corbin], this rally is also to celebrate our men and women in blue, and thank them for all they do for us as a community,” Robinson said in the Facebook post.
Robinson is running against Democrat Yvonne Lewis Holley for the state's second-highest public post. Corbin is facing Democratic challenger Victoria Fox for the District 50 seat. A third candidate, Clifton Ingram from the Libertarian Party, was initially running for the seat but withdrew.
“I am honored to be joining my friend, Lt. Governor Candidate Mark Robinson, for a rally supporting our law enforcement in Jackson County,” Corbin said in a Facebook post on July 27.
