CLAY COUNTY SCHOOLS HAYESVILLE: Message With Two Critical Updates For Parents

Update

Clay County Schools Hayesville issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.

This is a message from Clay County Schools with two critical updates for parents.

1. The traffic pattern for buses and cars has been changed temporarily for HMS and HHS due to the repaving of our main campus bus parking lot. Please refer to this week's Clay County Progress, our district Facebook page, or the district website to see a map of where to drop off or pickup your child for the next few weeks. Parents will still drop off and pickup their children at the circle on Elementary School Drive for HES. Nothing has changed for HPS.

2. On August 18th at a special called meeting, the CCS Board of Education voted to require all staff and students to wear masks while inside our buildings in order to prevent quarantines and remote instruction as much as possible. Our goal is to provide face to face instruction five days a week as consistently as possible so that our students can succeed and their parents can go to work consistently. This decision will be reviewed at a special meeting on September 7th at 5:30 pm. Students will also be required to wear a mask while riding a bus. All students will be provided with five approved cloth masks that should be washed every weekend.

Last, please come out and support the Yellow Jacket football team at their first home game tonight. Thank you all for your continued support of our schools. Go Yellow Jackets!
