JACKSON COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Haywood County Flood Victims still Needs Some Very Specific Supplies!

issued the following announcement on Aug. 29. 

 Haywood County flood victims still needs some very specific supplies! TODAY you can drop off items from the list below in the covered parking area by Stanberry Insurance in Sylva on Hwy. 107 (please do not bring anything other than the listed items, per Haywood Relief). Thanks to everyone involved in this effort!!

Drop off donations on Tuesday 8/31 

10am - 7pm 

715 East Main Street, Sylva NC

Beside Stanberry Insurance, at the former gas station

Aluminum pans

▪️Totes with lids (these storage bins are crucial as they are where folks are keeping their belongings)

▪️Flashlights

▪️Batteries AA, AAA, D

▪️Frying pans

▪️Mixing bowls

▪️Plastic forks

▪️Syrup

▪️Bacon

▪️Coke, Pepsi, Mnt Dew

▪️Charcoal 

▪️Small propane tanks for camp stoves

▪️Tarps

▪️Push brooms

▪️Mops

▪️Large Squeegees 

▪️Wheelbarrows 

▪️Dust Pans

▪️Shovels

▪️Trash cans

▪️Shop vacs

▪️Rags

▪️Buckets

▪️Lighters

▪️Toilet paper

▪️Damp rid (anything for mold)

▪️Clorox clean up or similar cleaners (no bottles of bleach at this time)

▪️Laundry detergent 

▪️Duct Tape

▪️Box fans

▪️Extension chords

▪️Dehumidifiers 

▪️Plastic/paper plates

▪️Disposable cups

▪️Sodas

▪️Sports drinks

▪️Rice

▪️Aluminum foil

▪️Plastic wrap

▪️To go boxes for take out food 

▪️Mail boxes/posts

▪️Pet food

We can't take anything that is not on this list at this time. 

We will be taking Town of Sylva trucks and a TWSA truck, thanks to the help of Jake Scott, to Haywood County on Wednesday morning to the locations needing these supplies.
